This also helps protect everyone from miscalculations and ensures the most accurate result.

It's important to note that coverage will differ based on a variety of factors, such as the surface type, texture and permeability, as well as the application methods, equipment and workmanship.To ensure maximum vapor permeability, please use only Alkemis Interior Mineral Primer where specified, followed by Alkemis Interior Mineral Paint.

Please make sure you are using the actual measurements for the walls & ceilings instead of the building's square footage footprint.

1. Measure Walls: Use a tape measure to find the width and height of each wall, then multiply to get its square footage (Length x Width).
2. Calculate Total Wall Area: Add the square footage of all the walls together.
3. Find Perimeter & Height (Shortcut): Alternatively, add the lengths of all walls to get the perimeter, then multiply by the ceiling height to get total wall area (Perimeter x Height).
4. Measure Doors & Windows: Measure the width and height of each door and window, then multiply to find their square footage.
5. Subtract Openings: Subtract the total area of doors and windows from the total wall area.
6. Account for Two Coats: Multiply your final wall area by two (or the number of coats you plan to apply).
7. Estimate Gallons: Divide the total area (from step 6) by the paint's coverage (typically 300 SF per gallon) to find out how much paint you need.
8. Add a Buffer: It's wise to buy about 10-15% extra paint for touch-ups and unforeseen issues.
